Waterton Lakes

We started the day by driving up Red Rock Parkway to hike a couple of short trails.  The first one was Red River Canyon

Then we walked up to Blakiston Falls.  There were so many beautiful wildflowers along the trail.

It started getting hot so we decided to drive up to the higher elevations in the park.  We took the Akamina Parkway to then end.  We hiked along Cameron Lake and almost walked all the way to the United States but we ran out of trail.

We hiked back to the trail head, had lunch and then took a short walk to Akamina Lake before heading back down Akamina Parkway.  Along the road on the way down, we saw another black bear...

and her 3 cubs!!! They were so cute!  What an amazing sight to see!

Tonight we'll do one last short but steep hike to Bear Hump for a great view of Waterton.  Tomorrow we head to Montana and Glacier National Park.
